THE HEALING LIGHT PROJECT is a collaborative effort with very definite goals and programs. They include: creating opportunities for cultural exchanges and for learning and sharing with musicians and people around the world, and building new lasting friendships that make for the first steps towards peacemaking. We work locally and worldwide.
We launched the project in March 2017 with collaborative project in Africa. Rahel traveled to Africa with her son who documented the trip. As a first endeavor it was more than successful. Not only were the seeds of friendship planted between African and Jewish cultures, Rahel and Future realized that dreams really could become actualized. At that time they shouted loudly, "Next year in Jerusalem", though they weren't sure how that would happen.
It happened. Somehow it happened. Rahel and four members of Amavevane Acapella arrived in Israel for a series of concerts, school programs and a very unique interactive concert/workshop with special needs young adults. Local musicians joined the project: Tofa'ah, Israel's first and leading all-woman band, Singer-songwriter Jules Levin, and percussionist Glenn Tamir all joined Rahel and Amavevane in performances. Additional musicians shared the concert stage. They included: Ariela Orion, Cyrelle, and Becky's Band. A group of visual artists joined in for an art/music program where they gained a unique opportunity for "live" inspiration at the Janco Dada Museum in Northern Israel. Feedback was phenomenal. Comments were made about the uniqueness of Jewish-African music and cultural collaboration. It was heartwarming to see how the two could work together which gave inspiration to those still struggling with their own mixed-cultural identities. Some commented that the collaboration is an example of real "Tikkun Olam" - world healing. The special needs adults were treated to an unforgettable experience where they were inspired to sing, move and express themselves in their own unique ways. The children at an elementary school with a very mixed population of Jews, Arabs and a diverse cross-section of immigrant children witnessed and experienced the pride and value in sharing and celebrating differences rather than hiding them.

ABOUT US:
We are musicians who live in different countries around the world. We are in fact very different; culturally, traditionally, in how we speak, in the language that we use and in the way we live our lives. It is our differences that make us unique. It is our differences that bring us together!
"The Healing Light Project” is about coming together in the same place at the same time to learn about, share and CELEBRATE our differences in song and dance. Together we share our traditions, our culture, we learn a new language and share a traditional meal. Together we laugh and cry and revel in the joy of knowing that we all share one amazing world.
